It started with one question in 1999
Our co-creator, Lori Levy, was an undecided college student who knew only that she wanted a career helping people. An aunt, a nurse, suggested speech therapy. Around that same time her grandmother had a massive stroke and lost her ability to communicate — and Lori saw what it means to lose something most of us never think about. She took one introductory course and fell in love with the profession.
She began her career in the hospital with stroke patients, then moved into pediatric home health, where she discovered how much she loved working with children — helping them find their voices, gain confidence, and reach the milestones their families had been waiting for. In 2007, she opened her own private practice.
More than two decades later, the profession became personal again. Her father has suffered multiple strokes, and this time she wasn't the therapist standing beside a family — she was the daughter. It gave her an even deeper understanding of every family she has ever worked with.

Across more than two decades in hospitals, clinics, schools and her own practice, Lori used every speech therapy tool on the market. Some were great at one thing and fell short at everything else; none brought it together in one place. Meanwhile families were stuck with outdated photocopies and “homework” that felt like a chore, and SLPs were juggling five subscriptions just to piece together a decent session.

Lori B. Levy is a nationally certified (ASHA) and state licensed/insured speech-language pathologist who earned her M.A. in Communicative Disorders/Speech Language Pathology from the University of Central Florida in 2003. Over a career spanning more than 20 years, she has worked across hospitals, clinics, home health, elementary, middle, and high schools, and private practice. She specializes in oral motor and feeding disorders and is highly experienced with developmental delays, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, medically fragile children, language disorders, fluency disorders, and articulation and phonological disorders. Having worked closely with occupational therapists for years, Lori is a strong advocate for a collaborative team approach. She owns A Brainy Choice Inc. and has created several educational apps. After two decades of using every speech therapy tool on the market, she co-created SpeechTherapyMagic to bring everything she wished existed into one modern platform — built for how SLPs actually work in 2026.
